SYNOPSIS: Tom, a school teacher nervous about his first day of teaching, tries to relax by watching TV. Suddenly, the Schoolhouse Rock bunch appear in his rec room and proceed to show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs that cover a variety of subjects: math, science, history and grammar.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS: Please note the gender of the character is only a guideline.  Don’t be afraid to try out for a role you want because it isn’t the right gender.

Tom – (only adult role/may be female) Tom is the idealistic young teacher, the hero of our story.  Minimal singing but strong acting required.

Dina - Dina is Tom's mature side. She is thoughtful and grounded. Sings the lead on Interjections

Dori – She is the silly, goofy side of Tom.  Sings lead on A Noun is a Person, Place or Thing, and The Preamble.

Shulie – Shulie is the ingénue.  She is Tom’s sweet, genuine side.  Sings lead on Unpack Your Adjectives and Interplanet Janet.

Joe – Joe is the cool side of Tom.  He’s laid back and fun loving.  Sings lead on Conjunction Junction.

George – George is the romantic, caring and in control part of Tom.  Sings lead on Three Is A Magic Number and Just A Bill

Chorus – Everyone who is in the show will be part of the chorus.  Chorus members who do not have solo songs will be given lines, special choreography or blocking so that every actor and actress has an important role in the success of the production.
